Well, if you don't know by know the liberal congress is at it again. 2nd Amendment threatened into extinction once again. Yes, we all depend on the NRA to fight our battles but this is just too important to stand by and let it happen.
Although people are sad that a young kid was killed and the answer to this was to create a gun control bill named for the kid, Blaire Holt, EVERYONE needs to read the text of this bill, sponsored by Congressman Bobby Rush from Chicago, IL. It seems to be flying under the radar.
I don't care if you don't like guns. I don't care if you think they are dangerous. I don't care if you think they should only be in the hands of law enforcement.
You should care that our founding fathers went through hell to establish a free nation. They were afraid of oppressive government and wanted to be able to protect themselves against aggression from the government. They weren't concerned about criminals and protecting themselves against thugs.... most of them didn't even lock their doors. But they were terrified enough of the government that when they established the Bill of Rights, they felt strongly enough about being able to protect themselves against that government that they put THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS as #2 on the list. It wasn't #10; it was #2.

This shows the importance of this right that will be taken away from you if you do not call your congressman to vote against this bill if it makes if far enough to be voted on.
The people of the United States of America should always be able to protect themselves from theives and thugs....even if those are the people who you elect. Be very afraid of the 111th Congress. If they take away your 2nd Amendment Right, the rest of the Bill of Rights doesn't matter. How are you going to fight back if they come to take those?
Do not be fooled into thinking that gun control is the answer to crime. It is called crime because only unlawful criminals commit crimes. Do you think that criminals care about laws that say they can't own a gun, or have to register a gun, or have to know how to use a gun, or have to keep guns away from children, or not being able to take a gun from one state to another, or limiting the type of gun you can own, or needing a license to own and operate a firearm, or any of the countless other rediculous items in this bill? No!!! We have laws now and the only people who follow them are the law abiding citizens.
READ THE BILL....You will be shocked as to what is in it. They are asking for everything but your kitchen sink!
We cannot depend only on the NRA to lobby this bill. The bill is too big, too powerful, and too encompassing for them to do it alone. You must contact your Congressman now so it never makes it off of the House Floor. The last bill like this barely got shot down by the Supreme Court. They are our only hope if it gets picked up for vote and passed by the House and the Senate.
Study your WWII history. Some of the first things Hitler did when taking over Germany was to create a socialist government which started with the removal of the right of the people of Germany to arm themselves and the nationalization of banks. Then, the government began erroding freedoms one by one.
History is going to repeat itself if we let this happen. HMMMM, sounds like it has already started. Everyone slept through the largest transfer of wealth from the people of the United States and the private sector to the Federal, State and Local Governments in the History of the USA over the last three months. We allowed ourselves to get screwed and we deserve it. It's 1976 all over again.
You can still get your Senator to vote NO on the latest Stimulus Package. If you haven't read the bill, do it now before it's too late, they don't go for a vote until Monday FEB 9th. It is attached to this email as HR 1 because there is no text available for the (Great Compromise) Senate Bill that passed on Friday. There have been changes, but the changes still include district pork projects.
Section 1107 beginning on page 9 outlines the $233,500,000.00 to be divided among several government departments with the smallest amount $1,000,000.00 going to the Veteran's Affairs Dept and the largest amount $25,000,000.00 going to Govenment Salaries and Expenses. Only $10,000,000.00 was sent to the Small Business Admin and $2,000,000.00 to the HOmeland Security of Department of Justice. The Department of Labor got on ly $6,000,000.00. There is several billion dollars set aside for Rural Developement, non of which will create many NON GOVT jobs.
If you don't think your right to bear arms has anything to do with the nationalization of banks and a larger government.....think again, it has everything to do with erroding freedom.
Before you all start thinking that the author of this email is some whacked out weird gun freak, then you are wrong. I am a married professional with an upper level college degree. I have children. I have never killed a living thing with a firearm and don't want to. I respect others but have difficult time trusting my government. They never seem to work for me, but are concerned only with getting reelected. I read and I participate in our governmental process. I have even worked on some PACs. But most of all I love this country and do not want to sit back and watch it all deteriorate because the majority of the voting public is either too stupid or too lazy to read a simple bill being considered for vote and then contact the very people they elected to represent them. There are many of the bills worth reading that will affect your daily lives......not just these two.
Laziness in the political process and not caring about what is going on with the government is what got many, many people killed in Germany during the reign of Hitler. Pay Attention People....It's easy to keep track of what your congressmen and senators are doing with the internet and C-span. Wake up America before it is too late!

I'm writing this because I am just fed up and angry. After only one month of an overwhelming control of the House and a minor control in the Senate, this Congress is running amuck just as predicted. With a very liberal president, a very liberal congress ( and a few Republicans that refuse to vote like they are), and an ailing supreme court judge that will be replace by a liberal president, we are all in for a very nasty, nasty session and many more to come until we can elect new ones. They are messing things up so badly, we can only hope people wake up and correct it during the next election. Our freedoms are being eroded every day. I'm sending this to friends and family that I know care like I do and some that don't. If you know others who should be more informed either because they complain about what is going on or because they just don't seem to know, then send this to them. If you know others who get their news in soundbites like the rest of the world, then send this to them. Most of us are guilty of it. We have become too trusting that our government must know what is best for the American People. It couldn't possibly be that we have many people in Washington that know less about what is best for us than we do!
